BEES! We have a hive at the corner of Poplar and Maple in the very old oak. Does anyone know who might remove them for free before we kill them?
I’m a new member so I don’t know if you have taken care of your bee problem by now, but I can furnish some info. I had two infestations of honey bees a few years ago; one in a huge oak tree split and the other in the water meter by the road. I tried for weeks to find a bee-keeper who would come and capture the queen in order to help me and to assist in the preservation of the honey bee population which is in dire straights. No one would come and rescue the queen, but one offered to cut off the entire branch and take home about a 4 to 6 foot section to relocate the colony — that costly operation would have lost a large main branch of the tree and pretty much destroyed it. Sadly, I had to call an exterminator to spray.
