Due to high demand of the recycling trailer over the holidays the trailer will be open for business through January 2nd @ dark and then will return to normal weekend hours. 

***NO LONGER ACCEPTING GLASS***

Thank you Mountain City residents for the amazing response to the recycling trailer!  We have managed to fill up the trailer a couple of times every single month.  The high demand for "open dates" has been heard loud and clear by the council!! If you see the trailer in the driveway then it is open for business and we invite you to come by and dump your aluminum, plastics, paper and cardboard.  The bins are clearly labeled for you and we ask that if the bin is full please do not set the bag or box of items on the ground next to the bin, we would like to keep this area clean and neat as it is the first thing you see upon arrival into the city.  

A few points of note for recycling in the City of Mountain City ....

1. The Bin is OPEN FOR BUSINESS when it is parked outside of the privacy fence enclosure - typically every Friday evening through Sunday evening.  If the bin is full it will be put away.

2. Please do not throw in your trashbags or sacks of items.  If the bin states "plastic" then we need only plastic bottles etc in the bin, not the bags you brought them in.

3. If the bin is full do not place items on the ground.

4. If the bin is full it is acceptable to utilize another bin for the items with the EXCEPTION of glass.  Glass is no longer accepted by our drop site therefore we will no longer be accepting glass in our recycling bin.  Please note, that all other items are dumped in one giant pile at our current drop site so mixing bins is okay if necessary.

Please note - during the rainy weather the recycling bin may be in the driveway and locked, we will leave it there to prevent tearing up the yard.
